The Wayne County Museum will be presenting its annual Black History exhibit. This year the exhibit will be in collaboration with the USCT Research Team, on the little-known Black soldiers of the Civil War that fought for the Union Army and their freedom. The 135th United States Colored Troop Infantry was enlisted in Goldsboro and marched with General Sherman. The special exhibition will open on Saturday, February 20th at 10 am. At 1 pm on opening day, local reenactors will introduce visitors to these brave African-American soldiers, and help tell their stories. This fascinating exhibit on Black Civil War history is free to the public and will run from February 20th to May 29th at the Wayne County Museum.
