Goldsboro, N.C. — The Paramount Theatre of historic downtown Goldsboro is pleased to present the award-winning Las Vegas celebrity impersonators, The Edwards Twins, on August 14, 2021, at 7:30 pm. Unlike voice impersonators, these identical twin brothers, Eddie and Anthony, create an entire show, transforming into celebrities via makeup and costume changes. From Lionel Richie to Elton John and even Lady Gaga, this unique, high-caliber event renders laughter and awe from a diverse range of audiences and communities. Tickets start at $30 and can be purchased here.
This must-see show is significant for the goals of the Paramount Theater and the future of the arts as a whole. While drag shows or lip-syncing impersonators are not new to the entertainment world, the brothers elevate the industry standards to a stunning level of perfection and representativeness.
“We’re living in transformative times,” says Adam Twiss, director of Paramount Theater. “The arts and entertainment industry is in a position to help connect artists and audiences from various walks of life. The Edwards Twins demonstrate inclusive values and communicate them in a very entertaining way. I am excited to welcome them to the city of Goldsboro.”
The twin brothers, Eddie and Anthony, are master vocal and makeup artists who have been dubbed the country’s premier celebrity illusionists. The duo has appeared on The Tonight Show, Entertainment Tonight, The Today Show, Ellen and currently appear in Netflix’s original series, The Kominsky Method, starring Michael Douglas and Alan Arkin.
After years of studying music and performing superstars’ comedy routines for their friends and family, the California-based brothers developed one of the most fascinating acts in the business. Their visual and vocal impersonations of the world’s biggest celebrities are executed with such perfection that the senior editor of People Magazine admitted “in many ways they are better than watching the real thing.”
Ashlin Glatthar, director of travel and tourism for Goldsboro-Wayne County shared, “Goldsboro has a reputation for being welcoming to visitors and newcomers from all different walks of life. This show signifies the city’s efforts towards a more diverse, inclusive experience.”
“From the makeup to the over-the-top costumes, The Edwards Twins appeal to a broad range of audiences, like the LGBTQ community and Gen Z to Baby Boomers. As a department of the city of Goldsboro, the Paramount Theater is proud to be a connector and promoter of those larger societal goals around diversity, equity and inclusion,” explains Twiss.
