Totally Fly Goldsboro is funky, fresh and retro. Totally Fly is our iconic Eastern-style barbecue, our history that goes back to the American Revolution, our international foodie scene, our brew crews pouring fresh taps on the daily, our family-owned farms, our eclectic and award-winning Downtown, and it’s the daily air shows of F-15E’s soaring across the sky. YES! The tours are the last Thursday of every month and your spot must be reserved through the Visit Goldsboro office (that’s us). Tours of Seymour Johnson Air Force Base are absolutely FREE and a great activity to learn more about the amazing men and women that serve and the very cool jets that you see soaring across our skies on the daily. Parks, farm tours, historic sites, sweet shops, indoor arcades, outdoor fun, and much more are all kid-friendly options for your visit to Goldsboro-Wayne County. 

Traveling with your fur-child? No worries. We have many restaurants with outdoor dining options, pet-friendly bars, parks, walking destinations and outdoor recreational activities that will have make your road trip with man’s best friend super easy!

Why, yes it does! Downtown Goldsboro is always hopping. Literally, hopps flying left and right at Goldsboro Brew Works and Well Travelled Beer. You can also hit up the fresh taps and food trucks at R & R Brewing in Mount Olive, NC or sit outside and enjoy the craft brews at Brewmasters right up the road from Downtown. If you’re a foodie and a music-lover you’re bound to catch live music at the restaurants Downtown. Want late night arts and entertainment? The Paramount Theatre and The Arts Council of Wayne County always have a show going. Not to mention our many local events such as Center Street Jams, Lights Up Downtown and more. 

Yes, we do! Wings Over Wayne Air Show is held biannually on odd-numbered years. It’s the largest free air show in the state, attracting over 200,000 people to Wayne County for the two-day event at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base. To learn more, check out their website by click on the button below. 

We are on all the trails! Here is a list of them:

Mountain-to-Sea Trail, African American Music Trail, The North Carolina BBQ Trail, NC Birding Trail, and the Civil War History Trail.

Center Street Jams run May – August, Beak Week Poultry Festival is every September, Pig in the Park is our BBQ festival that happens every April, Taste of Wayne is our local foodie fest, the NC Pickle Festival is a big “dill” every year, Lights Up Downtown takes place every December during the holiday season…you know what? Whether your needing a space for just a couple of folks, or for a conference of 1,000 people, we have you covered. Only 65 miles from Raleigh-Durham International Airport and 26,445 sq.ft of indoor space to use, The Maxwell Convention Center is the place to be!

The Mt. Olive Pickle factory does not offer physical tours but they do have a very in-depth video tour! The gift shop is also a top spot to find everything your pickle aching heart desires. 

We also recommend discovering our pickle culture by checking out the NC Pickle Festival that happens every year in Mount Olive, NC. If you’re a really big pickle fan, come by on Dec. 31st and celebrate ringing in the New Year with the Pickle Drop!
