The David Aaron Johnson Museum is located in historic Downtown Mount Olive and is a treasure trove of history, antiques and photographs from throughout Wayne County History.
The Wayne County Museum is located in historic Downtown Goldsboro and has constantly rotating exhibitions, seminars and lectures on local history, special events and Downtown History Walks.
The Charles B. Aycock Birthplace Historic Site is the perfect place to go if you want to step back in time. Experience the day in the life of someone living in the past with their events, classes and by exploring the historically accurate school house, cabin and animal house with sheep and chickens!
EAT A HOT MEAL
Los Fogones is serving up the heat with their parrilladas, which includes 1/2 a Peruvian chicken, a 1/2 rack of ribs, a grilled ribeye steak, grilled Italian sausage and your choice of one brochette! If that doesn’t warm you up, we don’t know what will.
If you want to heat up your meal, we suggest heading over to Thai Garden Cuisine in historic Downtown Goldsboro. Fair warning, if you’re a fan of spicy food, don’t get ahead of yourself and order the hottest dish, this food can get SPICY!

The Arts Council of Wayne County is always the place you want to be to shelter from the cold! Stop by during an opening reception to see some beautiful local art, grab a glass of wine, and hear a selection of live music from a pianist to a jazz band.
